The Astro Hog is a classic Sig Kit. It seems that everyone has owned one at some point, and if you
haven't...you should! Becuase of it's gentle stalls, and flight characteristics at slow speeds,
it makes a great trainer or an intermediate plane. But don't let that fool you, it is also
highly aerobatic. The Astro Hog was actually the first low-wing R/C plane in 1957, and was the
pioneer of R/C aerobatics. In 1958, the top four places of the nationals competition was won
with an Astro Hog. So, needless to say, it is a great performer. Once you build it, you can
cover it however you like. We've even seen Astro-Hogs that look like Zero fighters and PT-19s.
If you're a 'hands-on' kind of person that likes to build your planes from the ground up, and
especially if you're a collector...this kit is for you!
This kit is comprised of precision die-cut and sawn premium balsa and aircraft plywood for ease
of assembly. It also comes with the landing gear, engine mounts, a molded plastic headrest for
cockpit, pushrods, and a complete hardware package. Not only does it have full-size plans, but
a photo instruction booklet as well.
